The best option for swimming and exercising in the area. The building is a beautiful place to stay and the view is great in summer. The library next to the building makes a great combination. I recommended

This centre used to be Burnaby Heights Secondary School. I know, because I taught there as as International Exchange Teacher in 1978. I remember Ted Slinger, Rob Betts and many others who taught there. I did an exchange with Dave Williamson. My name is Mike Curtis.

Description

The Environmental Sustainability Strategy (ESS) is a plan for Burnaby’s “green” future. It is the third – and completes the trilogy of – sustainable city policies, environmental, social and economic. The three-phase process used to create the ESS engaged over 2,500 people and collected over 8,000 ideas. The process was extensive, inclusive and creative and the response from the public and stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive, setting a solid foundation of community support that will help to ensure the future success of the ESS.

The 16 “Big Moves” and 25 “Quick Starts” within the approved plan will be the City’s focus for the first wave of implementation for the ESS. The ESS also contains ways for you to take action in support of the 10 goals of the ESS.

The ESS process has demonstrated that the environment is important to our community. It represents our community’s vision for a great future. By working cooperatively with the support of all our citizens and partners, together we can achieve the vision and goals of the ESS.
