Discover the rich heritage of Calgary here. Brought my kiddo here and it was a decent afternoon with a view into the history of our beloved city.

Description

Fort Calgary National Historic Site is the birthplace of the city of Calgary, where in 1875, the North West Mounted Police built a fort at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. This site is known as Moh’kinsstis in Blackfoot, and here in Treaty 7 territory, we continue to walk in the footsteps of our Indigenous and non-Indigenous ancestors in a spirit of cross-cultural sharing.
